What are staple foods that you would want in your pantry if you were stuck in your house due to a blizzard?!
I would also get my coleman camping stove (to use outside of course) and candles. I remember only once when the electricity went out.. and we used candles for lighting but the power outage didn't last long
Those are some of the main things I have had during blizzards! They can be a good time if you are prepared!
PS you don't need water because you are surrounded by snow!! freshly fallen snow!!! ;-)
Answers: I would want noodles and tomato sauce, veggies and chicken to make homemade chicken noodle soup, hot chocolate for those times when you venture outside to TRY to shovel the snow, Feves au lard because it reminds me of when I was a kid, stuck in blizzards (and it's high energy), chocolate bars (which I stash in the freezer), milk (for my coffee of course), canned soups because they're easy, and baking stuff to pass the time (brown sugar, flour, oats, chocolate chips, eggs, milk....).

Let's assume that, by some miracle, the power is still working.
I would need cereal and milk, microwave meals, and lots of spaghetti!
wine & soup
WATER!!! tons of it. And anything non-perishable. Believe you me, I live in the middle of MN, where a blizzard, and being snowed in for a while is a very REAL possibility!
Anything canned, Lots of water! Anything that will make lots and lots of leftovers (casseroles and such) and anything that can be added to other foods
Bisquick
Assuming the power was still working - I'd want lots of soup and pasta... canned fruit would also be a great thing to have.
spagetti O's....beenie weenies(barbecue) ramen noodles, spam plenty of bread & veggies!
Bread, cheese, milk, meat, soup, lots of Vodka, Vermouth, jalapno stuffed olives, Cpt Morgan spiced rum, caffine free diet Coke.
Pasta, baked beans, rice pudding, pulses, tinned veg, eggs(maybe), tuna and chocolate :-)
canned goods - just in case water pipes freeze - you will have handy liquid and the stuff can be eaten without warming it (unlike oatmeal, pasta etc.).
I would have allot of canned goods. Flour and baking supplies too because it is a grand opportunity to do so. coffee, tea and other hot beverages. p.s in a blizzard there sometimes isn't electricity and the only way to cook things is with gas.
Any food that does not need to be prepared, and has a long shelf life. Though we do not get blizzards (hurricanes instead), water and canned foods (have can opener) are critical...hopefully it does not get so cold that your food and water items freeze.
Stay warm
CRACKERS, BEANS, TUNA AND PEANUT BUTTER
Bread!! Anything Mexican....would HAVE to have cheese for sure! Water and ice cream would have to be a must...gee I wonder why I feel like I need to lose weight LOL!
I have a gas stove that doesn't require electricity,so I'd want to be set for a full schedule of baking and cooking-it would help keep the house warm and pipes from freezing too. Flour, sugar, spices, milk, butter, eggs (keeping foods cold and frozen wouldn't be a problem, now would it?) potatoes, onions, meat, canned goods. Water would be plentiful, but need to be heated on the stove.
Never been through a blizzard but hurricanes and have been without power/water for 2 wks and no water/ice/staples or GAS available at stores.. So WATER WATER WATER bread crackers canned vegetables fruits meats nonperishable fruit drinks. You can get nonperishable milk in little cartons.. sternos if you lose power, generator. TOILET PAPER! Sometimes it's nice to have something like chocolate for times of high stress too (ok I made that up but damn chocolate is good!)
I would have vodka, tonic, bread, crackers, cheese, milk and chips and ice cream.
Well now, Last year in February we had a storm that left 60" of snow in town. Food was the furthest thing from my mind in view of the ski area that is 3 miles up the road..........
But.....Beer for sure.........Pasta, sauce......Canned stuff......
full chicken coup......
Canned soup, sandwich stuff, chips, ginger ale, crackers, cheese, cake, avocados, cheese dip, salsa.
