Help me find a wok?!

Question: I'm trying to replace my old one, and I'm rather picky about it. Non-stick is no good, which is why I need a new one. I want it to be hard anodized...but it has to be 12 inches wide by 4-5(hopefully 5, cause that's what I have) inches deep. Do they just not make them that big anymore? x_x

You probably can find what you want in Chinatown. The link below is one of the places that sells woks--they have several styles made out of different metals. Not sure what kind of handles you want and all but one of these should suit your taste.

Go to a local chinese resturant and ask a family member if they have a extra wok they dont want ,Woks that are in resturants are big but I have one and they are really useful

Do you have available an import store like World Mart or Pier One?

I recently saw a good variety of woks at a World Mart, and you can probably find them at most specialty import stores. Also, try a specialty cookware store, if you have one in your area.

Many woks that are commercially sold are non-stick. I have two electric non-stick woks and an older carbon steel stove top wok and I have extensively used all three. I like the electric woks because one wok pretty much takes up my stove top when I use that.

When I get in the mood to stir fry I do it in a big way.

I bought my wok at a Asian grocery store. Its the traditional kind that you have to scrub and season up. well worth the effort. If its good enough for a billion Asians, then its good enough for me. Then there is the charm factor.....Oh, and if they dont have the size you need in stock, they can special order one for you
