Grocery delivery, i found peoples attitudes interesting?!
is this a UK thing as many of the opposers were from the USA? i would have thought a lot of people would have relished the chance not to trawl the grocery stores,
i guess i dont really have a question, i was just interested in why so many people opposed the idea?
thanks for listening!!
Answers: some people obviously frown upon this, and i didnt see that coming, it doesnt make us lazy, i run my own business and have 3 children at home, i make my list over the week and send it off rather than trailing the supermarket for 2-3 hours a week, time i can spend with my family, and also the complaints about cost, it costs the same as shopping in store and there is always a voucher around for free delivery, and i have no expense driving to the supermarket, it frees up check outs for those who are in store, there are many advantages-but it is very easy to overspend LOL,

Truthfully, I can't imagine why it would be frowned on either. I know it is available in some places here in the US, but I live in a rural area and it's not available here. I would be ecstatic if I could have my groceries delivered for the same price I pay to shop in store. The only problem I see for me is remembering to put everything on my list.
Tell them to shut up.
They're probably envious that they're not doing it and that you have success and order in your life.
Okay, well maybe I was wrong, but it appears I'm the only one around this time of night (or morning).
I think it is a wonderful idea. I don't think they do it in the US anymore. It would involve the grocery store doing work and would cut into their profits. I'm sure the biggest opponents were grocers.
i think it`s great, especially at Christmas,i shop on line for my groceries because i hate the rush and the queues,i do it for Christmas presents too.
I must admit I prefer doing my shopping in the store since I never have a list and end up buying stuff on impulse (especially if there are good offers on :-))
I don't have a problem with anyone shopping on-line and can't understand why anyone would be against it!
They actually do do it in the US... as a matter of fact, right after this question, I too will go to the site, and pick out my groceries for delivery. I'm extremely busy, and this saves me a ton of time!! The delivery person is always so friendly... which in turn he (usually a guy) ALWAYS gets a wonderful tip!!! So if they have say, 10 deliveries in one day... they can make a pretty penny in cash on the side!! So... thumbs up to grocery delivery!!! I love it! Thanks for your comment
