What is the difference between brown eggs and white eggs? Are brown eggs more healthy?!

Question: Egg shell color is caused by pigment deposition during egg formation and can vary according to breed, from the more common white or brown to pink or speckled blue-green. Although there is no significant link between shell color and nutritional value, there is often a cultural preference for one color over another. For example, in most regions of the United States, eggs are generally white; while in the northeast of that country and in the United Kingdom, eggs are generally light-brown.

no difference at all

thay are the same

the colour

A chicken farmer told me it just has to do with what the chickens have been eating, but otherwise the eggs are the same.

Different breed of chicken. The brown eggs are not healthier than the white.

No they are not more healthy. There is no significant difference - it is just the exterior colour.

absolutely nothing, the colour comes from the different breed of hen, I keep hens and have both sorts of eggs so i can guarantee no difference, they just look more appealing

It all depends on the diet the chickens have had and the breed of hens. They are both the same nutritionally.

The inside of the eggs are the same. The colour depends on the breed and there are variations in colour even within breeds.

I keep pet hens and they are all fed exactly the same food but they all lay different coloured eggs!

Well the song we sing is brown eggs are local eggs and local eggs are best, so I buy brown ....... but I really can't tell the difference in taste (shhhhhhhhhhh)

No nutritional difference. It's the breed of the chicken that determines the color of the egg

Brown eggs (yolks) are richer tasting. If I had a choice, I would buy the brown over the white.
