If you are going to eat a snack before bed and you do not have stomach problems like acid reflux, bananas are ok. It's not the banana itself, it's eating anything before bed that can cause people to dream, or have nightmares. If you want to eat a snack, I would try to eat at least 2 or 3 hours before bed. Just a suggestion.

we always gave kids banannas at night while they were groiwng because son would constantly get leg cramps and the vitamins in bananas really helped!!!(potasium) Report It

  • Dont see why not. I thought it was only chese you shouldnt eat

I eat bananas all the time they keep me from getting leg cramps. I never noticed having nightmares though, I will have to pay more attention to my dreams. I highly doubt that bananas can give you nightmares. Unless the banana is trying to kill you; ).

I've never heard of that before. I'm pretty sure the only thing a banana can give you is help with cramps or pains. Maybe you can try it again tonight and if you have another nightmare, don't eat them before bed.

If it gives you nightmares don't eat them at night. I think of them as breakfast food or on a peanut-butter sandwich at lunch.

Uh, the bananas are least likely to be the reason why you had nightmares; it was probably just a coincidence. Then again, you shouldn't eat anything within 30 minutes to an hour before going to bed.
