Jafa Cake. Cake? or Buscuit?!

Question: GIZ is right.

Cakes go hard and biscuits go soft. Simple....

Is this the rule the tax office use if they only apply VAT to biscuits!!!!

Copied from the BBC website:
"For example the infamous UK Jaffa Cake case. Biscuits and cakes are considered a necessity by UK law and are zero rated. Chocolate covered biscuits however are a luxury and subject to VAT at 17.5%. McVities and HM Customs & Excise3 argued over whether the Jaffa Cake was a cake (no VAT) or a chocolate biscuit (lots of VAT). The argument had to be taken to a Tribunal (kind of like a court) to be resolved. In the end McVities baked a 12" Jaffa Cake which convinced the Tribunal Chairman of the general cakeiness of the Jaffa Cake. "

Cake. The clue is in the name.

Simple rule!

A cake, is a product that goes hard when stale!

A biscuit, is a product that goes soft when stale!

Jaffa cake is thus a cake!!!

Giz - you are a genius!

Cake. Chocolate cake, actually! ?

i dont know if you have realised this but, jaffa cake is called jaffa CAKE and it is soft, and has jam, whereas a biscuit has none on this and is hard and stuff

Cake.

Cakes are soft things that go hard when theyre stale.

Biscuits are hard things that go soft when theyre stale.

So Jaffa Cakes are cakes.

A stale cake ...... or maybe it's a soggy biscuit .... hmmm not sure really xxx

Its neither a cake or a biscuit its a meringue, I saw a tv program that looked into how they are made.

Who cares what they are? If they're soft they're very moreish ( a full pack just isn't enough!)

However, if you've inadvertantly forgotten some, or you've been away in hospital/prison, etc, and the liitle critters have gone stale - put them in a bowl with hot Birds custard - now that's even more moreish!!!!

obviously it is a cake for it has a sponge base not a biscuit base!

duh !! sunny weather **** weather. now looking at your question yes we cant blame you are dull . there is a thing called spell check learn how to use it.
jaffa cake anytime

Biscuit.

Use your spell check.

Try getting out more - life's short darling.........xxx

Shortbread biscuits

biscuits to dunk

Actually Its A Cross Between Both

who cares just eat and enjoy

The clue is in the title Jaffa CAKE it is a cake as the base is made of sponge You must try the Lime ones WOW

I'd say it was cake cos its kinda sponge-like
