Think back, what was the most usual food item that was served at the holiday meal?!

my stepmom...every year...she has to serve a side salad that involves putting bibb lettuce on an individual plate, then putting some sort of gross aspic (tomato gelatin, etc) on the lettuce, then puts a dollop of mayonnaise and then canned hearts of palm on top. It is so disgusting...and has nothing to do with christmas.

Pass the mashed potatoes, please.

Pinto beans.

It all depends on your family. My father-in-law used to serve venison and squirrel. My grandmother used to make home made mincemeat pie--with venison.

Turkey.

Saurkraut- every thanksgiving. Must be a german thing-

My grandma used to make oyster dressing for Thanksgiving,ewww! :-(
