A question about MARMITE........?!
I still cant do it without ripping the bread to shreds.

Try getting an even amount of marmite all the way up the blade of the butter knife, and turn the knife to about 30 degrees.
Dont eat it lol, No try heating the knife first??
use peanut butter instead
use toast instead of bread
warm your knife under the hot tap

Heat your knife up - either under some very hot water, or over the hob!
It is best you don't eat it anyway, because it is bloody disgusting.
why would you want to eat that stuff anyway, when you manage to get it onto a piece of bread it looks like a poo sandwich and the taste is pretty close to

Lol, I get the same problem. Try warming the knife up first and then try spreading it. You could alos try putting some warm/hot water in a bowl and putting the jar of Marmite into the water and leaving it 5 mins or so. This might help to soften the Marmite up a little.
Or you could try not putting butter on your bread. I have found alot of sandwitch fillings etc spread better without butter. But what is a sandwitch without butter I say.

Don't keep it in the fridge. I have a question about Marmite. Vegetarians eat it as a substitute for Bovril, but it's made from yeast, and maybe yeast have feelings too. Just a thought!
why not trying a bit of spreadable Pirelli or cat vomit...
make sure you get enough on your knife to start with.

yuk how could you. my mate eats it by the gallon.she keeps it in the cupboard until she needs it Ive also seen it on a radiator warming it up, she said it makes it easier to spread.so it has to be warm ....personally i would burn it but it smells bad enough.yukyukyuk.

Try the new squeezy bottle and stand it on it's lid always!!! Then just pipe thin little 'tram lines up and down the bread....happy squeezing!!!
have it on toast instead with hot baked beans on top: the best lazy lunch ever : )
It's easier on toasted bread. Never put the jar in the fridge. The sueezable stuff is better to spread but much more expensive.
