What's the correct way to make coffee????!

Question: In a drip coffee maker, how many Tbsps do I put in? I usually only do about 8 cups. I have a 12 cups coffee maker.

The instructions has 2 Tbsps per 6 oz. Isn't a cup 8 oz? That would be a TON of coffee groundsif I'm making 8 cups, just doesn't sound right!

Coffee makers have been measured in 6 oz cups from the beginning. Not sure why, just the way it is. I use 1/2 cup of coffee for 12 six ounce cups or 1/4 cup for 6 six ounce cups.

I use a level measure..you know..the one that comes in the coffee can..If you want it stronger..heap it a bit..I always use 2 filters. Report It

  • I make coffee in a 8 cup pot every morning. I put 3 big tablespoons in the filter. The coffee is just right, strong but not overwhelming. Plus it make the kitchen smell yummy. The best thing to do is experience a few mornings, write down how much you used and than write down how it tasted. Once you get it to how you like it, tape a note on the the coffee maker.

I do it by site, I would do 4 1/2 tablespoons for what your making.

normally a couple of tablespoons, it also depends on how strong you likeit.

Everyone has their own way of making coffee. I personally make a 12-cup pot using 7 plastic spoonfuls (slightly rounded) of grounds.
