I don't know if you are aware but the Spice Girls are trying to make some kind of come-back and they are doing everything they can to promote themselves because they have brought out a new record.
They were even on Children in need on Saturday doing the same thing.
I don't know about you but I am fed up with these "has beens" using charity events to promote whatever and,lets face it they were never really any good and are still not also,they do not need the money and we do not really need them.
This advert will be one of a few things they will be doing to make us like them (not).

I think the Spice Girls were on Children in Need promoting their single because the single is a charity single i believe the proceeds go to Children in Need i'm not a spice girls fan but i'm not going to slate them for raising money for charity.
This is not the message which Tesco wish to you receive from the advert no.
The Spice Girls hide from each other because they are buying presents for each other and want to get them out of the store without the others knowing what they are getting for Christmas.
In recent years big name retailers have competed to present the biggest celebs possible in their christmas campaigns and to out-do each other.
Reuniting the spice girls in this way was tesco's attempt at entering this competition usually the domain of department stores like Debenhams and M&S
