A thawing turkey that needs seasoning.. Needin help!?!
Answers: I took my 10lb turkey out of the freezer on Monday. It is now Wednesday and I need to season it for turkey day tomorrow. But, the skin is a little soft but all in all it still feels pretty frozen. Since the skin seems to be thawed can I still season it? And if not then I need it to be thawed today and what are some good, safe ways I can thaw it quicker with out putting into jeopardy the quality of the bird tomorrow? Any help would be MUCH appreciated! Thanks!!
Don't season it until you are ready to cook it.
To thaw quicker put turkey in a clean bucket of cool water. Make sure it is completely covered. Change water every few hours. When thawed, drain and cover and put in fridge.
When ready to cook:
Pat dry
Sprinkle inside and out with onion powder, powered sage, accent, Mrs. dash or whatever goes with your taste.
I put a ****** of celery stalks, fresh sage, and onion in the bird and cook the dressing separately.
You should wait until the bird is fully defrosted to season it. Thawing can be done by setting the bird in cool water.
hi there if you took the turkey out on Monday you should be able to season it to day it depends on when you are going to cook it i always cook mine the night before we always eat at noon on turkey day . i turn my oven down on low and let it cook all night and it is done by the time i get up.
Leave it in the fridge until the day you're going to cook it. Check it early in the morning and if it's still a bit frozen stick it in a sink filled with cool water. Don't season the turkey until you're ready to cook it.
