CaLLING ALL COOKS!!!!!!!!?!
Answers: Should I stuff the turkey with stuffing before or after I bake it in the oven? Thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!!
Before...so all the juices cook into the stuffing and make it moist.
stuff the turkey before baking t makes it more flavorful and robust
The PC approved method is to stuff after baking. But the stuffing that is baked inside the turkey tastes better, although there is a risk there of salmonella.
Stuff it with carrots/onions/apples/celery before you bake it. Make sure to remove the gizzards first. I suggest you top the bird with a few slices of bacon/salt/pepper and some sort of wine or butter to keep marinating it with. Marinade , marinade , marinade
before
Stuff after...thats what the cooking shows all say to do.
Since you are getting mixed answers, maybe I can suggest trying both?
In my house growing up my mom was a vegetarian, so she would eat everything but the turkey at thanksgiving.. she would also cook everything but the turkey which was my dads job. She would make a big batch of stuffing and then give half to my dad and keep half out of the turkey for herself to enjoy without having touched any meat. Us meat eating kids would enjoy portions from both types.
Stuffing the turkey afterwards seems kind of pointless, but maybe I'm wrong.
If you stuff the turkey with an onion or lemon (cut in half) it will cook much quicker. then you can cook your stuffing separately (& put back in if you like) but will speed up the whole process
yes, but stuff it lightly. and before you take it out the stuffing should reach 160 degrees.
Well you wouldn't want to stuff a cooked turkey with raw stuffing... You probably wouldn't get sick, but you'd be eating cold (or at least room temperature) stuffing. You should stuff it before you put it in the oven, but you'll have to cook the turkey longer than if it wasn't stuffed.
