Do you feel silly saying the weird coffee names at Starbucks?!

Question: I do but their plain coffee just s*cks! Way too bitter.

Answers: I do but their plain coffee just s*cks! Way too bitter.

I agree!!!!!!!!!!
Why would I want to ramble off a 13 word description of bad coffee????

Can I have a mega over roasted, burnt, coffee made from cheap beans, with raw sugar and a soy based liquid you try to pass off as milk and / or cream?

No thanks!!!!!!!!!!

I'll stick with Dunkin' Donuts!!!!!!!
Oh and a few people have mentioned Tim Horton's, I've been to a Tim Horton's a few times and it is definitely very good coffee!!!!!!

No i never feel silly because it's just normal when you walk into starbucks

I have problems with the different names. I'm slightly learning disabled so I have difficulty saying words and/or phrases that are not commonly said. Therefore, I often used to get "tongue-tied" when it was my turn to place my order at Starbuck's. My daughter had to do it for me to save me from embarrassment. Now I can do it myself with only an occasional stumble and IF I consistently place the same order: Grande-size Caramel Frapaccino. lol

venti soy caramel frappichino extra whip

yes.

I hardly go there, I have a few gift cards that I haven't used in 2 years, because I don't even know how to say those words!! also the coffee sucks except I like the xmas flavors so anyway, where are those cards??!?

yes, but i think their names are pretty unique.

lol....yea its weird with the venti meaning a size......i know people that work there so im like i want a medium blah blah blah..... i know my mom orders like a venti carmel macchiato with whipped cream blended......

I recently walked into a Starbucks and asked for a cup of coffee. The employee looked at me with such a blank stare it was laughable! She then went on to go through a list of products that I have no knowledge of, I stayed silent. At the end of the pitch I simply asked for a cup of coffee, "well do want house roast, etc." I want a cup of coffee I replied. I got one. Haven't a clue as to what it was. Think I will stay with Maxwell House brewed at home before I leave for day. What an experience!

If every Starbucks in the world closed, first of all, I would not miss them and , secondly, the world would probably be a friendlier place.

Yeah.. but I stay away from Starbucks because they're more expensive than just buying coffee somewhere else and the names can sometimes be just ridiculous (I can hardly taste the difference sometimes).. That's why here in Canada I stick to good ole' Tim Horton's for my coffee! The names are plain and easy to understand, lol, and the coffee is still good. Better than Starbucks, actually, and cheap. :S And if you walk into a Starbucks asking for a coffee they don't understand you and the employees in my experiences are sort of rude if you don't know "Starbucks etiquette".

grande peppermint mocha...oh how I love this time of year!!!!

Here in Canada we have a chain called Tim Hortons after a famous NHL hockey player, and recently they added the expresstion "Double, Double" to our version of the Webster dictionary, sort of a unique Canadian quote.

It is hard sometime so early in the morning to get your order out, I sat in one in downtown Toronto On Canada last month and wondered how people did it, so coherantly so early each day, for me I like mine strong black with a bit of sugar, and it is getting harder and harder to even get that.

I agree with you when did you need a PHD to order coffee or know a second language to get a cup of joe served to you???

I'm in Starbucks most of the time..at first i was still shy at ordering there for the fear of embarrassing myself, but now..instead of saying frappuccino..i just say caramel FRAP venti cream based..hehe..zats all..no biggie really..

no, because your the customer and like if they make fun of you, you have the right

I stand there and look at them say their order and always say to myself "they sure sound lame"
What is with the non-fat, 1/2 this 1/2 that, skin milk, iced
Just order a latte with flavor, iced cofffee ect...........
What is with the lame musicI
I dare a Starbucks to crank up the Van Halen or Godsmack

i only say mocha cappuccino.

Usally dont respond to this sort of question, but here is my take.
What makes every barista in msot coffee houses think they are movie critics, I go into a local shop and they start spouting off. I mean they are pouring coffee right?
And as far as Starbucks go, I always ask for mine 140 degrees not scalded but I dont think they pay attention as they serve it blazing hot, just go over to the condiment bar and pours some out and fill with cold milk.

Yes. In fact, I refuse to say them. The only way you'd get "venti" to come out of my mouth would be to offer me a job there. I specify the size by ounces: 12, 16, 20. The poor employees have to repeat the proprietary names back to me, but at least they're getting paid to abuse language in that fashion.

no, i don't.
