Why are pounds of coffee now only 12 ounces?!

Question: As the price of beans and labor goes up so does the price. By lowering the amount they give you, your price stays the same.

Answers: As the price of beans and labor goes up so does the price. By lowering the amount they give you, your price stays the same.

Because they are coffee.

The size went down but the price didn't. They hoped you wouldn't notice.

Because it is less than a pound. 16 ounces is a pound.

Because 12 ounces is the new pound? I'm not a coffee drinker for the record.

They are not pounds, they are 12 ounce bags/cans. If you go to Starbucks they sell pounders. A pound of coffee is and will always be a pound of coffee. Maybe they sell smaller bags so you will buy more in the long run or so they can charge lower prices for a unit item, thus offsetting a price increase.

to trick customers into believing that the price has remained the same. You are paying the same price for a container of coffee, but there is less coffee in the container. It's a marketing ploy, to cause you not to notice that the price has indeed gone up 30 to 40%.

So they can charge you the same price but give you less. Just like ice cream, etc.

16 oz is a pound.
12 oz is 12 oz.

they must be selling 12 oz now. not 16. hmmmm.

Oh come ON..!!!
you know it is a marketing PLOY to give you & I less for the same or more money..
You & I have NO controll..
the free & fair market is ONLY for the distributers...
you can "not" even buy whole coffee beans at a discount>>???
