But in general, the cup of coffee has more.
Remember: it's a MUCH bigger cup than the espresso shot.

12 ounces of coffee has more caffeine than a shot of espresso. caffeine is water soluable and regular drip coffee has more caffeine than espresso as the grounds are in contact with water longer than espresso. that's why an espresso puck comes out relatively dry as compared to a filter full of drip coffee grounds. the steam shoots thru more for the flavour of the coffee than for the caffeine.
