Answers: I thought frappe was any alcoholic drink poured over a glass full of crushed ice. Very retro - popular in the seventies. I remember it being done with creme de menthe (the stuff the pope drinks I believe - no wonder they carry him about in a chair).

Here in New England a frappe is what everyone else calls a milk shake. Our milkshakes never had ice cream in them back then but, we seem to have given up our old ways.
The best is coffee frappes! Our favorite flavor here.
