I think regular tonic water has got a lot more sugar in it.

Look on the label. Tonic water isn't pure water. It has calories/sugar. It is sort of like low-sugar 7-up. Diet tonic water has 0 calories.

Tonic Water has Sugar and Quinnine in it so if she bought diet it has a sweetner and about 30 less calories per glass.

Original Tonic water has Sucrose in it to balance the bitterness, of the quinine.
Now the low cal stuff does not have quinine in it and no sucrose.
