Why does bottled water have an expiration date?!

Question: Virtually all food and drinks sold have what is called a shelf life, which means that they can only sit on the store shelves for a certain amout of time, hence the expiration date. It does not necessarilly mean that the food or drink is spoiled. I learned this information while working for a grocery distribution co.

BECAUSE ITS BOTTLED!!!!!!!!!!!

Because the bottle the water is stored in slowley releases toxic chemicals in the water over time.

i have no clue does water expire??? hmm my guess is no.

I think there are some regulations on all food by the FDA that requires an expiration date on everything. Even tap water in a bottle.

after a certain period of time, the minerals from the plastic bottle begin to break down and dissolve into the water. These toxins are definately not good for the body. So the "water" doesn't go bad, the container does.

anything in a package or that is in a bottle has an expiration..
