Why doesn't Starbucks actually brew/serve hazelnut or french vanilla coffe?!
Answers: LIke all they have is regular and decaf coffee but they are able to make all those specialty drinks...it doesn't make sense to me! Why is this? Can you request a cup of hazelnut or french vanilla coffee?
you can get a hazelnut latte or you can ask for hazelnut in your regular coffee. There is no french vanilla syrup but there is vanilla. Some people have said that hazelnut and vanilla together taste like french vanilla. You can also ask if they can make it french vanilla and if they're not in a rush a good barista should help you out.
They probably use a flavored syrup that just makes the regular coffee taste like hazelnut, vanilla, etc.
why are you asking us? ask them next time you go there
when you go someplace like dunkin donuts and get hazelnut coffee, you are getting nasty artificial flavorings that are infused into the beans. People that like good coffee are usually not into tainting it with artificial flavors like that. When you get flavors in an espresso drink like a latte it comes in the form of a syrup, usually made with natural flavors that actually come from hazelnuts or vanilla beans. If you want your regular cup of coffee to have those flavors at starbucks just ask the barista to give you a shot of the appropriate syrup.
I used to manage a coffee bar. The reason is that once a flavored coffee is brewed in a coffee maker they can no longer use it for regular coffee. The reason is the beans are flavored with oil that never really gets completely out. We had to let the "flavored" pots soak in bleach overnight and eventually throw them out. Plus the price of a cup of coffee is about 1/3 of the specialty drinks. It brews down to a money thing.
CUZ IT SUCKS!!!
Flavored coffe is just so awful to me. But, you can add a flavor shot, like everyone is saying....
because most people don't like it. not enough demand i guess. personally i think those coffees smell and taste disgusting. just as for flavor syrup in your coffee.
