Where is the best place to store coffee beans? rtefrig or cupboard?!

Question: fridge...keeps them fresh.

Answers: fridge...keeps them fresh.

refrigerator - the aromatic oils ( and smell) aren't released as fast, so the coffee should taste better.

Freezer

Fridge

When storing coffee, the main enemies of freshness and flavour are oxygen, moisture, light and time. So the best way to store your coffee is in its whole bean form in a dark cupboard or drawer at room temperature. Grind your coffee just before you brew it and only buy your supplies a week or two at a time. We don’t recommend storing coffee in the fridge because it so readily picks up other flavours and aromas. If you must keep your coffee for more than a few weeks, it is probably best to put it in the freezer in an air tight container

2. Ground coffee

Will only stay fresh when stored for a few days, but you should at least keep air away by using an airtight ceramic canister that blocks light. This is why grinding your own beans is well worth the effort and it's also really simple. Trying to keep ground coffee fresh is next to impossible.

You'll even hear some people suggest freezing whole bean or ground coffee but here is why that is a bad idea. Water molecules not only attach to coffee beans and ground coffee but also to the packaging.

When the water comes into contact with the surface of a coffee bean, ice forms around it. Roasted coffee beans are porous, so when the ice melts, it deteriorates the taste and quality of the coffee. Also avoid storing coffee in the refrigerator, because the constant cold mist in the refrigerator attaches to the whole bean or ground coffee and water is coffee's enemy (during coffee storage).

freezer is the best place
