Will a plastic commuter coffee mug alter or ruin the taste of coffee?!

Question: I have noticed coffee tastes flat in a plastic container, could this be true?

Answers: I have noticed coffee tastes flat in a plastic container, could this be true?

In the short run -> No, if you pour fresh coffee and drink it during a span of 2-3 minutes.
Long term -> Yes, if you pour fresh coffee and drink it throughout the day, the plastic will leach into the coffee, and the caffeine will absorb into the cup.

Plastic alters things due to the release of chemicals. Drinks, coffee, etc should be done in stainless steel containers.

yes

It could be true. I have not noticed it myself.
Try a stainless steel one.

Only if its made in China. The reason it tastes flat is,lead sinks !

a cheap one will make any drink taste like plastic, if you buy one make sure you get a good one, that says it would not leave that plastic taste

If ya gotta have ya coffee...who cares! Good coffee tastes good in any container...and visa versa for bad coffee. Personally, I prefer the good old ceramic mug...a big one!

I've used plastic but i cant tell the difference. I do notice that Mcdonalds coffee is good in styro though.

It tastes different to me, too, which is why I go with a stainless steel container. Keeps it hot forever and it tastes fine. :)

YUCK !!! I think it does and anything else put in it changes the taste.

Coffe is best in a glass or ceramic cup but i do use one of those commuter cups with the twist top. It tastes the same to me either way but doesn't seem to stay hot long enough. Now I'm getting used to the taste of cold coffee. Works during a long drive or commute though.

YUCK! IF YOU ARE A COFFEE LOVER
NEVER DRINK COFFEE FROM ANYTHING
BUT CHINA, ENJOY. OH, AND NEVER INSTANT.
