What makes the tap water cloudy when you first pour it into a glass?!


Question: When you pour water out of the tap, it first looks very cloudy before settling. What causes this and does it mean that the tap water is bad for you?

If you let it set a minute, is it clear? If so, it's probably air dissolved in the water.

Hopefully it's just air bubbles.

The cloudiness are minerals naturally found in water, when the minerals settle to the bottom it looks clear, and most of them are good for you. Our water company sends a report from time to time with the results of testing and a list of the exact minerals found in our tap water.

It's happened a couple of times to me ,looks like a lot of tiny bubbles then they all go away.Seems like it happens when It's really hot outside.
