Why Do Fizzy Drinks Taste Better From Cans...?!
Answers: Coke, Lucozade, Irn Bru, Dr Pepper...why do they all taste better when drunk from a can as opposed to the plastic bottle variety?
It all has to do with the material.
Plastic absorbs the CO2 gas that makes the drink "fizzy" at a much, much faster rate than aluminum or glass. Therefore, it stays fresher longer and better tasting. Have you ever smelled the inside of a bottled soft drink after you've finished it? Doesn't it STILL smell like the soft drink a bit? That's the CO2 embedded in the plastic.
Glass bottled fizzy drinks generally have the best taste (depending on where you buy it), but canned fizzy drinks are better at transferring energy (getting colder faster), without losing any of it's refreshing taste.
Ahhhh.... enjoy!
:o)
Because unlike a pub they don't water them down.
Good question, and u r right but I don't unfortunately know the answer
Im not sure but your right - and there always much colder aswell! Mmmm
diet coke break?!!
it may be because the metal of the can cools them down and drinks taste better cold.
The can does keep the drink colder also you are getting a metallic taste as well as the drink also changes the flavour.
I know the answer to this!
If you put a fizzy drink into a dishwasher proof glass, it seemingly goes flat.
The reason for this is that the bubbles need to be able to bounce off a rough surface. Dishwasher glasses are extra smooth, no bouncing. Coke bottles, less smooth, but ally cans, perfect.
I actually prefer them from a bottle or through a straw.
it doesnt taste better to me, I hate that metally tinge that cans of drink always have and always buy bottles.
Maybe I'm the only one who prefers from a plastic bottle, or even better, poured into a glass! I know I'm "wrong" though, and they are supposed to be better from the can. I prefer them a bit more watery and "flat", sad huh!
I dont think that true. Coke tastes nice out of the old style glass bottles.
my guinness tastes better in a glass bottle
Wow! You're so right. I love Coke but I only ever buy cans. I know it's more expensive but it tastes so much better. I think plastic bottles are a con! Although you seem to be getting better value 1) they taste worse 2) as soon as you open the bottle the fizz starts to disappear. So after a few hours, even if you screw shut the bottle tightly, you can taste the difference!
I much prefer the screw top plastic bottles, but then I am probably preverse because I don't like drinking it cold.
Actually I prefer them from glass bottles - you can't beat an ice cold coke from the old glass bottles! But I agree they definitely taste better from the can than from plastic bottles.
well I don't know but wow, I'm glad I'm not the only one...I agree that they taste much better from a can...not only colder but also fizzier
they dont every thing tastes better out of a bottle and it doesnt get that tinny taste
Someone once told me that they are sealed better in a can. I can believe that because even with a lid closed relatively tightly on a bottle, I can often squeeze air out.
I prefer them from bottles. I can taste the tin in canned drinks.
