Why do carbonated drinks fizz noticably more when ice is added?!

Question: "fizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"

Answers: "fizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"

The ice is a little colder than the drink so it melts a little when it's plopped into the glass because the liquid is a little warmer than the ice. This causes some gases to be released into the already fizzy beverage.

I am not too sure about which way around it is, but temperature change from the ice could affect the solubility of carbon dioxide in the solution (drink).

The CO2 in the drink reacts with the compressed air in the ice...

adding ice breaks the surface tension of the drink allowing more gas to be released
