My coke rewards question?!

Question: So I got an email from my coke rewards telling me that if I didn't use my points they were going to expire. I thought that was kind of bad beings I was saving for a Dooney and Burke purse to give to my sister but then I saw that they had a subscription to Cosmopolitan and decided to use my points for that instead of just letting my points expire. I tried to redeem them and it's telling me the item is out of stock. I think that this might be a scam because they aren't letting me save my points and now I can't even redeem them! So my question is has anyone ever received anything from redeeming their points from mycokerewards.com?
