Is White tea good for you and where can I buy some?!

Question: I have been seeing all over my college campus students and espeacially my teachers with lipton or White tea bottle drinks. What is white tea? Where can I buy some? Is white better than lipton regular or any regular tea. I'm curious. Oh what does it taste like if you can describe it. Thanks a million

There are different varieties of white tea as there are green teas and black teas. Also, there is white tea in loose leaf form and bagged white tea. In addition, there is bottled and freshly brewed.

I personally prefer freshly brewed because in my opinion, the bottled stuff you really don't know when it was brewed and bottled. It could have been a long time.

The taste is very subtle and somewhat sweet. I believe tea in general is an acquired taste, and so is white tea. White tea, to me, has a very smooth taste and doesn't need to be sweetened. I think you'll like it a lot. Try it fresh brewed with nothing in it. Sugar just ruins the taste of it.

White tea is made from a low heat preparation of normal tea leaves. Yes, it's supposed to be good for you, because it has anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. I think it tastes better than black tea, but somewhat similar-- it is more smooth. It also often has less caffeine than black and green teas.

I buy mine at AJ's Fine Foods. Any similar store should sell it.

White tea is less processed than black (regular) teas, so it contains more antioxidants, which may fight cancer. It has a delicate, slightly sweet taste, and is lower in caffeine than other types of tea. It should be brewed in water that has not yet reached the boiling point.

Salada and Good Earth both sell bagged white teas that some supermarkets carry. Stash Tea carries a range of bagged and loose teas: http://shopstashtea.com/teawhite.html I like their green & white tea.
