How to purify/filter tap water.?!

Question: Any idea how to purify/filter tap water for drinking purpose..,cause nowadays we are facing shortage of drinking water.., and when we checked the supply we have found some dust in it.,and have to collect it in cans or bottles...it makes unable to connect the modern type filter (available in the market) to the pipe lines.,thats why I post this....for your suggestions.,

"Would you mind helping me to make a home made but reliable water purifying system.,and should be economical as well?.."...

Thanks in advance for every body.

If it is just dust you can run it through filter paper (for example, the cone shaped kind used for coffee), or very fine muslin cloth. If you have other concerns over the quality of the water you can always boil it.

Boil the water or get a water filter e.g. BRITA.

get a syringe and but a ball of cotton wool in the bottom of it the pour in you water it helps a little bit! Then boil it for10 minuets ta dar!!

Have you tried a Brita or Pur filter pitcher for your drinking water? It's not connected to your water line. You pour water into the pitcher, and a replaceable filter removes impurities.

either boil it or buy a desallinator.
