Pop or soda?!

Question: I grew up with "soft drink" but everyone I know says pop so now I say pop.

Answers: I grew up with "soft drink" but everyone I know says pop so now I say pop.

It depends where you're at.
If you're in the Northwest, and you ask for a soda, they might not know what you're asking for.
If you ask for a pop in the South, you might get the same response.
If you say soda-pop, you'll cover it all.

I'm a recent soda convert. Soda all the way!

I realize "Pop" sounds stupid, but it's what I say usually. But it depends where you live.

soda is pretty good and so is pop so that is why it is good to ask for a soda pop

I've only used "Pop" since childhood. My husband who is 6 yrs older than me, calls it "Soda"......We both grew up in same area....Weird huh??

depends on where you are. say soda pop and u got it covered either way

Soda. Pop sounds too old :P

I don't know that this is correct, but I've always had this theory that people who were not allowed to have it in their youth call it pop and that people who were allowed to have it call it soda. This hasn't proved 100% accurate, but it's had a pretty good track record.

Check this out! It tells what people call it everywhere in the US! http://popvssoda.com:2998/

I honestly grew up saying 'sodapop.' Works for me. Sometimes I shorten it to 'soda,' and other times I shorten it to 'pop' -- and I'm not a bit consistent about it.

Funny thing is, I lived in the same place all my life until I left for college.

it doesn't depend as much were you are as who your talking to in the north west (i live there) they all know what your talking about but may call it the other in the south more of who your talking to because theres more kinds of people.in the east idk
