Non-dairy substitutes... anyone have opinions?!

Question: Any opinions on non-dairy substitutes?

Uses for anything in baking... drinking... what goes good on cereal (already know plain soy is bangin' on some cereals)....

I'll drink chocolate soy every once and a while, but not the biggest fan of many other kinds of soy just for drinking.

What's hemp milk like?

I work a second job as a barista (espresso bar-tender) part time and know that steamed soy is amazing too... but then again, I'll steam some whole milk and just drink it straight and enjoy every last drop.

Just thought this would be the place to get some generalized opinions. Thanks

try rice milk

my sister & brother can't take milk products. There is also rice dream ice cream which isn't too bad.

coconut milk...the thick creamy white kind. I use it in baking all the time, especially in puddings and it's good in pumpkin pie

I enjoy coconut milk, and soy milk. Coconut milk can be used as a substitute for most recipes calling for evaporated milk too. Just don't substitute it in things like pudding that are dependent on the protein for coagulation.

Hello,

I use
Coconut milk -- for our special rice recipes like Pulav;
Evaporated milk -- to make some kind of sweets;
Condensed milk -- to make some kind of sweets;
Soy milk -- for cereal, oatmeal, drinking;
Coffeemate creamer -- for Tea and Coffee

I have n't tried any other kinds like Rice milk / Almond milk. I worte this because you have asked for generalized opinions.

Best Wishes.

Mocha-Mix (liquid) is a non-dairy milk substitute. I've used it many times in recipes and to make coffee drinks. There are also rice milk and coconut milk.
