Why do people drink coffee after diner?!

It has long been thought to aid in digestion. As the mild poison that it is, caffeine does get the various systems in the body going (to help the body rid itself of that poison, of course) so maybe there is some truth to it.
It's been a tradition for a very long time now, so there are many folks who enjoy a cup of coffee after dinner just because that's what one does.
After a really big meal I like to have a cup of coffee, it seems to help get digestion going. I don't know if its true or not, but coffee seems to make me feel not so full. Also, after a big meal you can get a bit sleepy, so coffee helps.

when people get full they don't want to fal asleep so they drink coffee, i do it so when i get home after i eat dinner with my boy friend we can stay up
