Why doesn't water come in cans?!

Question: I was daydreaming about it and it strangely stuck in my head.

Answers: I was daydreaming about it and it strangely stuck in my head.

I don't know the reason why, but that is a great question. My guess would be that people like to see the "purity" of their water. If water was to be canned, you couldn't see it before you drink it, therefore risking a possibly impure drink. That is just a guess. I don't think the taste would be that different (otherwise why would be putting so many other consumable liquids in cans?) so it must have to do with the sight. But you may be onto something...

It doesn't taste good. Empty out an aluminum can and put water in it. It tastes funny. Or at least I think.

cuz it would taste GROSS

Interesting question. Obviously flavor has something to do with it. I'm sure that the can imparts an off flavor on everything, it just isn't noticeable because of the other flavors

yeah the taste wouldn't be all that great. Thats for sure. During the flood of '93 (st louis area, Mississippi River) there actually was water in aluminum cans. It was distributed by Anheiser Busch to help people who needed water during the disaster.

Actually I have seen water come in cans! Southwest Airlines once gave me a mini can of Deja Blue water (half size of a regular can), and it was no different than bottled water. I don't know why bottles are more prevalent than cans.

Hey I think i was the only one who ever thought about that. I just never thought to ask about it. Thanks

Why would it?
Dream on.

Use to have the stuff. It was the way some of the life boat rations had the water packed.

I have seen Dasani in a can on airlines, but it tastes different because of the aluminum.

Because people are on the go and like the cap on the bottle to reseal it. Everyone is carrying a bottle of water now days.
