Why do people drink non alcoholic wine ?!

People who are friends with people who drink often feel left out when the friends are "having fun." I guess that's their way of fitting in.
Plus it tastes good--drink as much as you want and STILL be the designated driver.

it's safer to drink things without alcohol especially if you are going to drive or if you are not a good person when you are drunk.
if you know that already and you are just talking about people who do that for fun, well then, it's just their choice. maybe people just want to try it out
The first type of person to come to mind are alcoholics, who cannot tolerate any alcohol whatsoever.
The second type of person would be any with an allergy to wine, or need to avoid alcohol in order to adhere to religious convictions.
The third type would be any who just didn't like alcohol in wine, but doesn't mind the taste of non-alcoholic wine.
I suppose its like a veggie eating a meat substitute .............. beats me !!

Some are Christians while others are just not suppose drink alcohol. It could be that at the time they are on medication that requires no alcohol.

I'd rather drink coke or orange juice if I didn't want alcohol. But each to their own I suppose.
What is the point of drinking alcohol. It has no taste of itself and spoils the natural flavour of the drink that it is in. As for red wine, try drinking the vinegar in which beetroot has been stored, yummy! and to be sociable simply drink Tonic water, your friends will think its gin and tonic, and honest!! there is no difference in the taste.
A friend of mine used to drink it when we went out so she did not look like the party pooper as she used to drive.
To be honest it taste like pants and would have real stuff any day.
My husband will drink none beer when we go out as he is driving but is taste crap too and expensive lol

Because they cannot drink and drive drinking non-alcoholic wine is obviously safe but it also creates an impression in the mind that you are drinking 'real' wine and don't feel left out! x

Some are in AA recovering from alcohol addiction. Some are designated drivers and don't want to hurt anyone by driving drunk. Others want to be in control so they can take someone home and have their way with them. Did you watch the ER show where the doctor was taken home by a superior and she was so drunk that the guy took advantage of her? I keep wondering if she will turn up pregnant in a new ER show if the strike ever gets settled we just may find out sometime in 2008.

I would say simply to be responsible regardless of the reasons why.Most people have stated the most obvious reasons so there is really nothing for me to add.
To set the record straight, Above the board alcohol counselors DOES NOT condone the use of non-alcoholic beverages because the taste can lead to the person returning to drinking the real thing, Please don't let yourself be fooled. Many people want to be responsible for there own actions in a social setting.
may be driving, kids, on tablets or just prefer it
1. They want to set an example to their children not to drink alcohol.
2. They want to be responsible and not drink and drive
3. They could be on medication
4. They could know someone whom is an alcoholic and not want to have a lifestyle like them.
5.They prefer a clear mind
6. They don't want to waste money
7. Their religious belief prevents them from drinking alcohol
my mate's fella can't drink he isn't very happy about it but he is trying he has just found out he has pancreatitis, and he feels that if he has a bottle in his hand he is joining in! he had half a pint of beer last night and he's paying for it today!
