Starbucks Employees...?!

Question: Ok, just started at Starbucks and the cheat sheets they USED to have for the new employees have been removed by the DM (too much clutter). I'm really trying to concentrate on how many pumps & shots Tall, Grande & Vente espresso drinks get (i.e., 2,3,4 pumps & 1,2 shots, right?) but I'm getting confused on how to make the Frappachino's. If any of you could nicely pass on the formula on how to make each one, that would be helpful. Also, I would like to have the formula for how many pumps the "holiday favorites". As well as, all the Iced Teas (passion fruit, black, green). Anyone know of a website that has all the formulas to making these. I'm really an employee but I could have used the cheat sheet for my first day today!

Even if they took down those cheat sheets you can always have the Beverage Resource Manual around to help you out. It will explain every drink in there. If you do not know what I'm talking about ask a fellow employee. =D

I have no idea how simplyoxsw3et is making her drinks the way she does, some of the scoops and pumps in the iced teas are soo wrong! It says even on the tazo tea shaker it gets 3 pumps classic in a tall, 4 in a grande and 6 in a venti! the dots on the side show you! Anyway, here are some of the fraps:

Cafe Vanilla (blended coffee)
scoops - 2,3,4
whip

Java Chip
pumps - 1,1,2
chips - 2,3,4
with whip and drizzle

mocha frap
pumps - 1,1,2
whip, no drizzle

caramel frap
pumps - 1,1,2
whip, caramel drizzle

espresso frap
shots - 1,1,2 (i'm not 100% sure, but like 99% sure...)
no whip

coffee frap
just coffee base, no whip

blended cremes:
double chocolate chip
pumps - 2,3,4
chips - 2,3,4
whip, drizzle

vanilla bean
scoops of powder: 2,3,4
whip

green tea frap
scoops of matcha: 2,3,4
melon syrup: 2,3,4
whip

chai creme frap
pumps of chai - 2,3,4
whip, cinnamon powder

strawberries n creme
creme frap to first line, strawberry puree to second line with ice and whip cream on top

Basically, most coffee fraps get 1-1-2 for syrups, creme fraps get 2-3-4 for syrups and scoops (chips, matcha, vanilla powder) are always 2-3-4. (when i do the order like that I mean by tall, grande, venti)

i think that's all of them...

iced teas...they have the "how tos" on the side.

you fill any kind of tea you want to use to the first line, then either lemonade or water (depending on if its a tea lemonade or just the iced tea) and then for tall, grande, venti, you use 3-4-6 pumps of classic syrup, add ice, shake 10x. that's it.

for holiday favs, the egg nog latte is just like a regular latte but with steamed egg nog. shots of espresso - 1,1,2. it does not get whipped cream, only foam with nutmeg on top

peppermint mochas and white mochas:
pumps of syrup:
3,4,5 - peppermint
3-4-5 - mocha or white mocha
so in a tall peppermint white mocha, there are 3 pumps peppermint, 3 pumps white mocha. (lots of syrup!)
whipped cream and red sprinkles

gingerbread latte, like a cinnamon dolce latte...it would get 3 pumps of gingerbread in a tall, 1 shot espresso, whipped cream and nutmeg on it.

I hope this helps, any other questions email me.

I'm thinking you should ask your boss or co-workers your question.

Do they not have even one training session for their new employees?

EDIT -- After getting a thumbs-down for my answer, I'm not sure I'm ever going to Starbucks ever again. I suggested that you ask your boss or some other employee at Starbucks for help. I also asked if they have a training session for new employees. Apparently my ideas are absurd even though they should be correct. But now that I know that they don't train their new employees nor do they help their new employees when they have a question, I don't think I want to go there again.

umm syrup pumps 3 4 5

shots (hot drinks) 1 2 2
shots (cold drinks) 1 2 3

mocha syrup 1 2 2
white mocha 1 2 2

chips/matcha/vanilla bean 3 4 5

for the frap bases i just looked at the menu until i got it right ex:
if they called vanilla bean, i would look at the board and see if was under the cream side or the coffee side ( it helps alot)

iced teas:
tea to the first line
water or lemonade if requested to second
sweetener 4 5 6
ice to top
shake 10x

drinks with whipped cream:
hot chocolate
white mocha
mocha

if unsure if a drink gets whip ask the customer if they'd like it and if they say oh well doesnt it usually come with it, you can respond with, i was just making sure you wanted it before i added it on

GOOD LUCK !! and it does get easier! =]

LISTEN TO ERIKA.

Except for Espresso Frappuccino which is ALWAYS 1 shot of espresso, regardless of the size. Other than that, she's got you covered.

Ask your Store Manager to order the Flash Cards that they should have received when the new Barista 100 rolled out in October. They have all the recipes on a little ring so you can flip through and study. It's part of your training activities.

Welcome to Starbucks! I hope your training gets better :(
