Why does McDonald's think it can attract the customers who pick up a morning coffee from Starbucks?!

Question: It could work out because of convenience, however, the atmosphere in McDonalds won't be like the atmosphere of Starbucks or any other coffee shop.
Many people go into a coffee shop for the aroma. With McDonalds' fries and cheeseburgers, it will never smell like coffee
Although it can happen in coffee shops, little kids run around more in places like McDonalds. People want to enjoy their coffee, and that means not hearing kids playing and screaming.

It's tough to see how this will play out...

Because they know, eventually the mon is going to run out at starbucks. Just my thought.

I don't know their coffee is nasty. I'd go for Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks.

Mcdonald's thinks that because starbucks mainly only sells drinks but mcdonalds sells food.

Simple... Starbucks buys the cheapest beans it can buy and then over-roasts them to mask the "cheap" flavor. Then, they charge a premium price for their cup-o-joe to make up for the investment in making sure a Starbucks over the horizon before the one you just went by is out of your rear view mirror.

At least Mc'D's is honest about the coffee. It's not great, but it's okay.

McDonalds was top in this coffee survey recently, these food experts went around and tasted coffee from all the cafes and fast food places, and Starbucks was fourth. Ha. I have no idea, actually.

Same reason Wal-Mart created a pharmacy. America runs on convinience. Its so important for us to be able to do everything all the same time and not have to keep going everywhere. If I'm going to treat myself I get Starbucks. Not everyone sees the oint of 5 dollar coffees everyday. I don't and people who do need to re-evaluate and give to charity. For good but not expensive coffee I go to DD. For cheap, "I don't have time and I'm starving" I settle for McD.

because it has !!!!!
starbucks just fired it's CEO......lol

If they could possibly make a cup as good as Starbucks- one huge advantage would be the parking/drive through issue. I can think of 5 Starbucks within walking distance ( though none on my way to work) and there is no parking or drive through in any- yet the neighborhood Mcdonalds has both, a huge bonus when you want to pick something up on your way to work.

Because they offer more breakfast food options. Their new improved coffee is a little more acceptable to people who prefer a strong, dark roasted coffee. They would have lost those people back when they had really week, nasty coffee.

McDonald's does have decent coffee...plus they could give Starbucks a serious run for the money. They could charge less and steal market share from Starbucks. Interesting move, will need to see how it pans out.

McDonalds has special coffee!
