Giving up caffeine?!

Question: What are the benefits of giving up caffeine? I was raised on soda my whole life (now 21) and I NEVER drink water or anything besides soda and I get a horrible headache when I dont have caffeine. Well I stopped drinking caffeine 4 days ago and Im drinking alot of sprite now. My headaches finally stopped. I really want to start drinking just water because I heard it is sooo good for your skin? What are the benefits of switching from soda to water? Thanks!!

Less sugar, better for your teeth. All that soda is not good for your teeth. Plenty, I don't drink soda never been one to drink it, I do drink coffee, and tea, water. I had stopped drinking caffeine all together a while back , stopped cold turkey for 8 months. I think caffeine in soda has more of an effect when you stop drinking it, because I never had the headaches when I quit consuming coffee.

You should feel very good about giving up caffeine. You should maybe have a sip of soda every now and then well if you want to.So the sprite is lemon lime soda so it's making your headaches go away since it's soda I guess.Well hope your new resolution 4 the year works!

you don't have to give up soda (sprite) altogether. I would just cut down on Sprite or 7up and drink mostly water. Think of soda as a treat. As you know, it contains a lot of sugar. congrats on giving up caffeine

The benefits are you are doing something good for your body, your nervous system.. your heart will thank you for this.. I don't do chocolate either......I have been caffeine free for 8 years. love it..
