Go to a kitchen store and buy:

An espresso maker ($20 for the traditional stove-top ones)
A battery-operated frother ($5, handheld)

Grocery store:
Lavazza Espresso ($4, ground)

Make the espresso on the stove, and heat up (DON'T boil!) some 2% milk. Once the milk is heated, use the frother to make it really foamy. Pour the espresso to fill a coffee cup 1/3 of the way. Scoop the foam off the top of the milk and add it to fill your coffee cup.

Its easier than it sounds, trust me!

I make cappuccino like this but you need a stove-top espresso pot and a little milk frother device (they're cheap battery-operated whisks specifically for frothing/streaming milk).

I brew espresso in a stove-top espresso pot (or you could try brewing espresso in a regular coffee pot, but I don't think it will come out right). I warm some milk or cream. I froth the milk and add the espresso to it and then I have cappuccino.
