Have you ever made homemade pop/soda?!

Question: I made rootbeer once. Back in the 80's you could buy a little pack of rootbeer syroup, and they had directions to make your own pop with yeast and water. It didn't taste too good, but was fun.

no i have never done that i didnt even know that i could but i would so love to make soda at home on my own cuz i seams really fun

Can you still buy this?, that sounds cool!

yes it tastes good.

I made home made ginger beer from scratch once. I took fizzy water, the juice from a shed load of fresh ginger & hell it tasted good. Put in a bit of sliced orange & ice!!

These days you can buy a cabonator, and make almost any beverage into soda pop. It is really a carbonated drink this is how fountain pop is made, syrup is mixed with water and carbon dioxide is mixed into it giving the bubbles. True soda pop is made with monosodiumcarbonate, baking soda. too much sodiun in your diet is very bad for your health

I have never try it, sounds good

We also have made the homemade root beer; my mom still does it. It's fun, but doesn't taste like store bought.

My brother had a kit to make homemade beer...that was just horrible! (not moonshine...lol)

I make ginger ale. 1 cup of sugar, 2 inches of fresh ginger grated, one lemon juiced, and add 1 teaspoon of bread yeast to a 2 liter bottle. then shake around and top off with water. let sit until bottle is very firm but does not explode and the chill.

you can also do rootbeer or cream soda. use the extracts and omit the lemon and ginger.

You can still make homemade rootbeer these days (though I have never used yeast). We used to have it when we went camping every summer when I was younger.

All you need is:

* 6 cups white sugar
* 3 1/3 gallons cold water
* 1 (2 ounce) bottle root beer extract
* 4 pounds dry ice
Mix sugar and water in one of those giant orange coolers until dissolved. Add the bottle of rootbeer extract. Cover with lid, but don't screw it on (you don't want to build up pressure and have a little explosion)

Party for an hour or so, or order a pizza (assuming you aren't camping). If camping, amuse yourself by setting a lizard loose in someone's tent.

Stare at the witches brew and laugh maniacally...

Eh wa-lah homemade rootbeer. (can be stored in milk jugs if not consumed immediately, though I have never really had that much get into jugs.

I make stuff with fruit cordial (thick concentrated fruit syrup) and seltzer water.. it comes out like fizzy fruit juice

Yes, as a child we did not have a lot of money so we would make Kool aid and add seltzer to it. I love to drink cranberry juice and seltzer at parties if I do not wish to drink alcohol, it tastes like an alcohol drink.
