Chamomile tea?!

Question: I only ever hear that chamomile tea has relaxing qualities for the body. Are there any actual health benefits from drinking it?

chamomile tea has been used for centuries for relaxing, and also I believe for colic in babies. It is very safe for everyone except those allergic to daisies....it is mildly antispasmodic, so that helps sometimes with stomach cramps or headaches...As for myself, it is too mild. I use a tea that has valarian in it, which is like natures valium, and it helps. two commercial teas are relaxation tea and sleepy time tea, both by celestial(?)
the benefits for the chamomile, is the same as doing meditation or yoga, it helps to lower blood pressure, and releaving stress is just healthy....less cortisol produced, etx.

i guess a health benefit could be it makes you more relaxed, which is good for just about anyone.

by being relaxed you have a better outlook and can have more sleep. sleep is the best medicine.
so i think that there are some health benefits in there. good luck :)

I also drink Camomile tea but the packaging just says that it has relaxing qualities. So I don't think there are any health benefits because if there were then the packaging would advertise this to make more people drink it.

there are quite a bit of antioxidants in any flavor tea....i've never see a tea that wasn't good for you in one way or another.

it is relaxing as it lacks caffeine, unlike many other herbal teas. Plus, it has some antiseptic qualities, which is why its used to soothe inflamations by dabbing it on.

It alleviates discomforts of sty's, conjunctivitis, raw throats, etc.

Its safe for human and animal use. - whenever my cat gets teary eyes, i wipe/dab some infused chamomile on and they're good as new.

Cynthia H has most of it. It is also anti inflammatory (you can take a used tea bad and cover a pimple with it for about 5 minutes or so or even rub it all over your face).

that's my favorite tea of all times, it'
s the best.

Chamomile may have anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties similar to true teas. Many people like it for its calming properties. It may also settle the stomach.

Chamomile is related to ragweed, so if you have seasonal allergies, it's best to avoid it. It gave me stomachaches.

Chamomile tea is relaxing. It is also good as a facial rinse.
