Well drinking water is very good for you but you still need other things to drink as well like juice. Now when it comes to having to much if you are healthy then you can never have to much as long as you have your juices too for other vitamins you need. My mother in law had Congestive Heart Failure in which means she had fluid on her lungs and they told her to drink a liter a day of all fluids but that is only cause she had CHF. But doctors have told me that I should be drinking around 9 glasses of water or more depending on how much you can take. Now I saw someone comment saying you are hydrated when you have to urinate. Now urinating only means your body is releasing toxins and other vitamins your body doesn't need. When you have toxins and un-necessary vitamins it only means your body already have enough and can not take anymore so that's why we have to go to the bathroom.
As long as your passing that water then you can Never drink to much. Good for you.
Just drink the amount that you feel thirsty for really. If you just keep drinking water over and over and over and over and over again then chances are you're probably drinking too much. My personal trainer told me that I needed to drink about 3 gallons a day of water and nothing else but I also needed to loose weight so I probably drank more than I had to had it not have been to loose weight. Drink maybe 1.5 gallons a day would be a good amount I think.
I know for a fact your body can only take so much water. Each person is different, I drink 3litres of water per day. For basic judgement, drink until you urinate and then keep drinking after that. You are basically hydrated when its time to pee (I know its gross!), when you become thirsty you are already dehydrated! Its complicated, if you feel that 1litre a day is enough than stick to it. You can never drink too much water. Peeing doesn't mean you're hydrated - it means that your body is working. You should drink a minimum of 12 glasses of water, though the old tale says 8. Again, that's a minimum. You should drink MORE than that. And like I said, your body cannot have too much water. There is only a rare situation that you could have too much water, and that's if you drink about 40 gallons in under a minute and drown yourself. Don't worry about drinking too much!
