INGREDIENTS
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 cup white sugar
1 pinch salt
1/3 cup boiling water
3 1/2 cups milk
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup half-and-half cream

DIRECTIONS
Combine the cocoa, sugar and pinch of salt in a saucepan. Blend in the boiling water. Bring this mixture to an easy boil while you stir. Simmer and stir for about 2 minutes. Watch that it doesn't scorch. Stir in 3 1/2 cups of milk and heat until very hot, but do not boil! Remove from heat and add vanilla. Divide between 4 mugs. Add the cream to the mugs of cocoa to cool it to drinking temperature.

INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 scoops vanilla ice cream
1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup whipped cream
2 tablespoons instant hot chocolate mix
5 chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed

DIRECTIONS
In a blender, combine ice cream, milk, whipped cream, hot chocolate mix and crushed cookies. Blend until smooth. Pour into a large chilled glass.

like hot chocolate?
okay heres what i do;
i take a cup of milk and stick it in a pot on low heat.
then i just basically use the hershey baking cocoa recipe on the side of the box, but modify it a bit. i take how ever much cocoa and however much sugar it calls for (sorry i don't know the specifics...) then i take a teaspoon of brown sugar. next, i take a teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice (the ground up powder stuff you buy at the store.) finally i add a teaspoon of vanilla (to the boiling milk, not the powder mixture. and yes, you should add it while the milk is still in the pot, it gives it added flavor.)
pour the milk into a mug, add the chocolate mixture and marshmallows if you want and enjoy!
(for cold i do the same thing, just don't boil the milk. let it sit out while you are making the cocoa mixture, add the two together in a mug or glass, then put it in the fridge for about 10 minutes.)

also, if you wanted to try something new, this recepie is really really good for frozen hot chocolate. just add a tablespoon of heavy whipping cream, and a cup of ice, and blend in a blender on high. its a really fun treat to do when your entertaining since its a twist on something classic.
hope that helps!

Take 1-2 tablespoons of cocoa
mix it with 2 tablespoons of white sugar (this will remove the lumps in the cocoa)
Pour 1 cup scalded (hot without a film) milk into your mug .
Stir well
enjoy
Note* You can use boiling water, but it's not as creamy

just put hot milk, sugar and 3 teaspons of cocoa in a cup
