No. There is no formaldehyde in Dr. Pepper or its like products. Formaldehyde is not safe to use in food (besides, you would smell it if there was any). And now that aspertame has been replaced by sucralose (Splenda), diet soda is not as bad in one aspect, but sucralose was found to cause cancer, so its essentially just as bad.

I'm not sure if that true or not lol my cousin always told me it had traces of antifreeze so im not sure

If it's diet, ya it's called aspartame.

Edit: for those who don't know, aspartame converts to formaldehyde in the body.

Urban Myth

The Dr Pepper one was that Diet Dr Pepper was supposed to be 1 ingredient short of being antifreeze

I hope not. That is so gross. Why would they put embalming fluid in a soda that billions of people drink? Gross!

Of course not! How do these silly things get started anyhow?!? Embalming fluid is formaldehyde. It is toxic to even get it ON your skin....why in the world would anyone want to believe they would put it in food or drink!
