Drinking coffee with a straw?!

Question: when you drink coffee (or another hot beverage) with a straw, why does it seem hotter in your mouth?

Answers: when you drink coffee (or another hot beverage) with a straw, why does it seem hotter in your mouth?

Because there isn't time for the heat to disappate; it is trapped in the straw

it doesnt to me

when you drink in from the straw, which is narrower than your mouth, then the coffee is more compacted and flows faster, making it burn more when it hits your mouth.
