Coffee drinkers....your urine after drinking coffee smells like?!
Answers: At first I thought it was just me whose urine smelled like coffee after drinking it, until I typed it in and seen that this happens to a bunch of people. I heard it was normal, because the coffee is so strong, that it's filtering. I haven't ran across harldy anybody that didn't have this problem. Does it happen to u? And do u think it's normal? I mean, at least I'm not alone on it. I just want to know what u think about that. My fiance laughed at me when I told him. Not to make me feel bad or anything, he just thought it was funny and teased me about it talking about maybe my body can't take the strong caffeine..lol! But I feel a whole lot better not after I seen that this has happened to a bunch of others. But I sure can use some help on what to do..maybe I can drink water behind it so it won't be as strong? It's not like I'm smelling the toilet or anything. U can smell it as soon as u start to urinate. What can I do to make the situation less......uh, "coffe-smelly?"
Heck yea. It happens to me all the time, and I'm a heavy coffee drinker. Well, I only have a venti coffee from Bucky's every day, but I can't do without it. Your body processes the coffee just as it does with anything else, and I guess the oils in the coffee bean are strong and cannot be processed. It's got to go somewhere, so into your urine it goes. It's the same way with other foods and drinks. Eat asparagus and your urine is going to smell . . . sort of like phosphorous. Drink a ton of water and your urine is clear. It's weird, though. If I have a vanilla hazlenut coffee, the smell is strong. If I have a French vanilla coffee, not as much. I definitely think it has something to do with the oils in the beans, but that's just my guess.

urine.. mine i believe smells like urine.. but i haven`t ever really got down to smell it..but i`m sure it doesn`t smell like a freshly brewed pot of coffee..
Drinking water will most likely dilute it, you're right. It always cracks me up...even if it's been hours, the first time I go after coffee it's still noticeable!

I drink coffee ALL the time, and I have never had mine smell like coffee.
I laughed the first time I saw a question that asked, "how come my urine smells like coffee," thinking that it was just a weird fluke for that guy. But then I saw that a lot of other people seem to have this happen to them.
So, maybe it is a fluke that my urine doesn't smell like coffee?
Or, I just don't have a strong sense of smell...
