Does tea have caffeine?!

Question: There are a lot of people who always say that tea has caffeine but i have also heard from a lot of people that it's not true and that tea actually has teeing or something(sorry bout spelling).

Which is true, and is tea really a lot healthier then coffee? Or is that a myth?

thanks in advance

Tea actually is much healthier than coffee, as it has phenols and antioxidants that are released when one brews a cup of tea and drinks it hot.

Black teas typically have some caffeine, but nominally less than coffee. Green teas have a bit less caffeine than black tea. Fruit teas and herbal teas typically do not have caffeine unless they blended with black tea (when I say black tea, I mean teas like Lipton, Tazo Awake, Twinning's English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Stash Chai, etc..).

*snorts*Depends on what kind of tea. Black and Green tea have caffiene, herbal doesn't. Tea is much healther than coffee....

Read the tea box for caffeine content.

Herbal teas are good for you.

Most tea has caffeine. A cup of black tea has less than half the caffeine of a cup of coffee and a little less than a typical can of cola. A cup of green tea has a little more caffeine than a cup of decaffeinated coffee.

You might be referring to theanine, which is a natural amino acid. It does have an effect on the brain, but it's normally considered a positive effect of reduced stress and increased relaxation. I haven't heard of any negative effects of theanine.

Yes, tea is healthier than coffee. While most tea does have caffeine, the caffeine content is quite low unless you drink a lot of black tea. Green tea and white tea claim to have more health benefits due to their lower level of processing, lower levels of caffeine, and higher levels of antioxidants.

it has some caffeine (unless it's herbal or decaf), but not much.

sum does, sum doesn't

it depends on what kind of tea but most tea does not

it depends on the tea and i've heard a myth that it has more caffeine then coffee

yes. unless it is decaffeinated tea or herbal tea, and specifies "no caffeine," all tea contains caffeine. a cup (6 oz) of coffee contains roughly 100 mg, a cup (6 oz) of tea (black, green or white) contains about 50mg.

tea is filled with lots of antioxidants that studies have shown are beneficial to our health, however coffee also has its own health benefits according to recent studies. drink whatever you like best, just remember all things in moderation.

Tea is much healthier than coffee and it does have caffeine, depending on the type of tea you drinking. You can check the caffeine content on the box.
