I don't know about Manhattan but I'm from Brooklyn and I go to this place in Queens called La Nueva which is a Uruguayan bakery that has yerba mate from Uruguay.

my mom used to live in Manahttan and she says that there used to be a huge store that sold authentic mexican foods and ingredients. she says its on 14th street but she doesnt remember the cross street or the name. hope this helps!
