What should be the shelf life of packaged drinking water?!
Answers: what should be the shelf life of packaged drinking water for the manufacturer as per the norms of BIS for ISI certification?
Its not the water that is the problem. Its the packaging. Pure or boiled water sealed into glass jars with non-corrosive lids can last forever. But with the plastic containers usually in use the US government site for disaster preparedness recommends changing it every 6 months (because 12 months tends to be too long).
It also depends on the storage conditions. Slightly cool with no extremes of heat or cold (definetly no chance of freezing) is best.
forever
pure water will last forever....

Most bottled waters have a 2 year shelf life. Some are only one year.
