Does Starbucks hot chocolate contain milk in the cocoa mix?!

Question: I only recently realized that Starbucks makes drinks with soy milk, which is great because I'm allergic to milk (casein) and love warm drinks in the winter (but am not the biggest fan of tea and plain coffee). I love hot chocolate, though...but I've always had to make my own because I thought that at coffee shops and the like they were always made with real milk. However, lots of cocoa/hot chocolate mixes contain powdered milk, so even now that I know that I can get a hot chocolate with soy milk at a chain coffee place (and obviously I'd ask for no milk-containing additions, like whipped cream), I need to know whether or not there would be any hidden milk ingredients, like powdered milk, in the mix. Does anyone happen to know?

Also, what about coffee places other than Starbucks (I have Beaner's - or Biggby, don't know if the name's been changed yet - and Espresso Royale in my area)? Or are there drinks other than hot chocolate that I might be able to try (i.e. vanilla latte)?

First off, I don't recommend Starbuck's Hot Chocolate. Personally it tastes horrifying... Your better off finding another place, like Second Cup... They have a nice rich tasting Hot Chocolate drink.
About your milk... They don't have milk in their mix, it's just a mocha syrup. Just make sure you order your drink with Soy milk...

Other drinks at Sb... Its up to whatever you like to drink... You can get everything made with Soy milk.

i work at starbucks, and what we do is mix hot water with a bag of the mocha powder. the mocha powder could indeed have a hint of dairy in it (i've never really taken a look at the ingredients).

at any starbucks, your best bet is to get something that contains only our flavored syrups (vanilla, hazelnut, toffee nut, etc.) with soy milk.

worked there for 5 years.. No it doesn't it is a powdered mix, mixed with water with no milk products in dry mix.

I would have to look at the ingredients list for that. I do know that Starbucks can make a hot cocoa for you with soy milk. They can even make lattes with soy milk. Just tell the cashier that you want soy milk instead of regular milk.
