Prove me wrong (Reverse Osmosis vs Tap water)?!
Bring both to boil, and continue to boil until all the water is evaporated.
You will notice a calcium ring in the tap water pot which should prove to you that boiling water does not remove the minerals.
It does however kill any harmful bacteria (hence boil water orders when municipal system is down)
Notice no ring in the Reverse Osmosis water.
Answers: Get 2 Pots. Fill with 2 cups of tap water, the other with Reverse Osmosis water (Aquafina, or Dasini)

We have RO system and it tastes great. If you figure out how much you spend on bottled RO water, you will know quickly how fast it will pay for itself. RO system cost us $150. (installed ourselves), paid for in months and no more plastic bottles filling the trash. Plus you don't have to boil your water when ordered.
I think that is interesting. I never thought about it before. I actually have a bottle of aquafina and I am going to check that out.
You are correct, but I never doubted the results. Minerals are not necessarily a bad thing to have in your drinking water though.

Boiling water does purify it, but if it travels through miles of metal pipes it will likely pick up trace amounts of minerals/metals. If it goes directly from a water purification system to a bottle, it is purified until contaminated.
