Why does mineral water that 'has trickled through mountains for centuries' have a 'use by' date?!

Question: So random I know lol.. I was drinking some water earlier and read the label on the bottle.. it just made me laugh.. ^^

LOL The marketers are obviously stupid. There is nothing in it that will go bad so I don't know why they even bother with that.

To keep it crisp maybe. Water starts tasting funny when it's been sitting in a bottle for awhile.
I never even knew there was water being sold with a "use by" date.

good question. it's like motor oil, which in crude form, sat underground for millions of years is somehow going to go bad in your crankcase, regardless of mileage, in three months.

No one else here has heard of the fact that water is only good for 2 centuries, 1 year, 3 months and 4 days precisely? where did you people go to school?

While it was trickling it was isolated from the air and local bacteria. Now that it was brought up it has gotten its share of germs and they will continue to multiply in the bottle.

ummmm well not really but if you want it fresh than dont wait along time
