Am I the only one who doesn't like carbonation?!

Question: I have never liked carbonated drinks. The bubbles sting my tongue and throat to the point that it's uncomfortable -- I just hate the sensation. I have never met anyone who understands this. Have any of you heard of anyone who has this reaction to carbonation.

Nope!!!!!!
I've been sticking to iced tea ever since that awful sip of Fanta at the age of 4.
Iced tea is way better than any carbonated drink. The carbonation just stings like MAD, and it drives me crazy!!

i dont like carbonated drinks either.
i never drink pop or soda water. i think its just too much.
i never really thought much of it though. regular water is alot better for you anyways.

I found some soda's more carbonated than others, but I sometimes put some water into it and that seems to lessen the carbonation.

I'm sure your not alone, ya should consider yourself lucky though, carbonated drinks aren't good for ya anyway friend.

While I always have soft drinks and many of those are carbonated, I don't like drinks with carbon dioxide (I heard this is the gas dissolved in them) that much either.

It seems to 'burn' my throat, and I certainly couldn't drink in just one swig...

Besides, recently I heard that carbonated drinks induce liquids retention...

When will they create non-carbonated coca-cola? (And it better be, non-carbonated and diet coca-cola).

I am exactly the same way , it feels like it burns my throat and chest on the way down , caffeine does the same thing. I just stick to water and milk , hehe

You are definitely not alone, Kathryn. When we’re having a pizza or anything that calls for a nice cold drink, I’m the one with the Nestle’s Iced Tea. Delicious, and no need for the hand to the mouth with an embarrassed, “Whoops !, Excuse me…gas, ha, ha”.
Granted, it’s not green tea, but you never know; they may even come up with that, one day.
So enjoy your non-carbonated beverages. And take pleasure in the fact that what you are swallowing is a lot healthier.
